HOW Storage Expiry in Enterprise Vault affects EV Complete Migrations

Overview

Storage Expiry in Enterprise Vault is responsible for deleting data from archives when their retention periods expire.

It is recommended to disable Storage Expiry during an EVComplete migration so that data is not deleted during the migration phase causing potential inconsistency of data count. 

Solution

1. In the left pane of the Administration Console expand the hierarchy until the appropriate vault site is visible.

2. Right-click the vault site and then, on the shortcut menu, click Properties.

3. In the Site Properties dialog box, click the Storage Expiry tab.

4. In the Storage expiry tab, select "Never" under Process Vault store and apply changes

Storage Expiry is now disabled and no data will be removed during migration.

It is important to re-enable this feature after the migration completes if you would like the expiry process to continue.
