HOW TO: Restore only shortcut items during migration

Overview

Sometimes, requirement may be just to restore items that have shortcuts in outlook and ignore any other archived emails in Enterprise Vault.

This is supported migration by EV Complete but it require special configuration.

Configuration

1. It's important that the Migration Template workflow contains "Scan Shortcuts" step before "Mail Archive Migration Synchronization" step. This step will scan mailbox for all the message type of shortcut and store this information in EVComplete database.

2. Second configuration is required for "Mail Archive Migration Synchronization" step.

• Item with shortcuts need to have target defined (Primary/Archive) and the "Non shortcut item Target" need to be set as "Do not migrate"
• Apart from that it's important to activate shortcut filter that will differentiate between items with existing shortcut and items without shortcuts
