How To use the Credential Editor to update service account passwords

Last modified:

Overview

The Credential Editor is the application for storing credentials that are used to connect to the data sources required for the migration process.  It runs on the Bridgehead server and should have been configured as part of the initial Installation and Configuration call with your Cloudficient services consultant.

There could be instances where updating a password for one or more of the accounts is required.  Below are the steps for performing this activity.

1. Log onto the Bridgehead server with the user account that is running the 3 services below:

Remad.ActiveDirectory

Remad.Exchange

Remad.OnPrem.Bridgehead

2. Open File Explorer and browse to:  D:\Program Files\cloudficient\Exchange\Credential

Note: the editor also exists in the following location for the ActiveDirectory module which might also require updating:  D:\Program Files\cloudficient\ActiveDirectory\Credential

3. Find the file as seen below, right-click on it, and choose to run as Administrator

4. There will be 3 entries in the list (unless it is the Active Directory editor, there will be only 1).  Select the one that requires editing, and choose the Edit button.

5. Once updated, exit the application and open the Services app.  Restart the Remad.Exchange service.  If the Active Directory password was updated, restart the Remad.ActiveDirectory service.
