HOWTO: Disable Archive auto enabling option in Enterprise Vault

Overview

During migration of archived email with Cloudficient EVComplete tool, it's recommend to disable Automatic archive enabling on Enterprise Vault.

When "Archive Auto enabling" is enabled, Enterprise Vault can reenable user EV archives that were previously disable for archiving by EVComplete when user started migration.

Solution

1. In the left pane of the Administration Console, expand the vault site hierarchy until the name of the vault site is visible.

2. Expand the vault site and then expand Targets.

3. Expand Exchange.

4. Expand the required domain.

5. Click Provisioning Group. 

6. In the right pane, double-click the provisioning group that will contain the mailboxes

NOTE: if you are using multiple provisioning groups you need to disable the feature on all of them.

7. In the Provisioning Group Properties, click the Archiving Defaults tab.

8. Uncheck "Automatically enable mailboxes" and apply changes.
